About Griffin30007 Productions
A little bit about me, my production name, and other things I have done...
To start with the Griffin... The griffin is noble beast from mythology which I have taken to be my symbol... I originally discovered the griffin in King Arthur and Charlemagne stories I used to read... I first really saw the griffin in the first computer game I ever owned, Heroes II of Might and Magic (Windows 95... good times). I then encountered the griffin riders of Warcraft II, my second computer game. As I developed a knowledge of mythology, middle ages, fantasy, and sci-fi, my respect and knowledge of not only the griffin but other creatures grew. As I started into my teen years I developed a liking for the trading card game, Magic the Gathering, along with a version of LARP DND (Live-Action Role Playing Dungeons and Dragons). When I created my personal coat of arms I designed it with the knowledge of what the griffin stood for... By the time I rolled into Warcraft III and Battle.net I needed a ScreenName and "Griffin", "Griffin3000" were already taken (3, 3000, and 7 being my lucky numbers) stuck a 7 on the end and thats how it stuck...

The Elven "G" Rune

I admit that the symbol I use as a signature is unoriginal. For those that do not recognize the symbol, it is an high elven "G" rune used in Tolkien's books. This symbol would not normally have caught my attention except that Gandalf the Grey used it always in his signatures. Having a first name beginning with a "G", I too began to sign my name with the rune and it stuck...

The Coat of Arms

For those that do not know the griffin is a heraldric creature comprised by the wings, head, and fore-quarters of an eagle and the hind-quarters of a lion. The lion represents nobility and strength whereas the eagle represents power and intellegence. The helm with the gold visor is the sign of a peer (someone directly related to royalty yet not on the throne) which I feel that I can use since my family is directly desended from Charlemagne.
I have several real shields which I had before I officially created the coat of arms, one of which (my first shield) was wooden had a black background and gold border, the second of which being my main metal shield with the only difference being a lighter green background, a silver griffin (versus a gold one), and the phrase "Iniuriam Tantum Odi" which states "Hate only injustice" in latin (not my idea...). Just for Christmas 2004, I had the Coat of Arms turned into a signet ring, which I often use to seal letters or simply show the pride of my coat of arms.
